The Mannesmann Behrensbau building is partially refurbished. The spatial balance and the effect of spaciousness provided by the entrance hall are recreated incorporating the additional functions and uses. The hall’s internal architecture reflects the vertically divided form of the façade. The atmosphere of the building is emphasised by the contrast of light and dark in the interplay of the restrained colours and the skilful use of artificial and natural light.
