The "Haus am Seestern" is one of the latest building monuments of the state capital. Built in 1959/60 by Helmut Rhode as open plan office, the building was changed in 1997 to a modern, flexibly useable office centre following the original desin. The new facade structure, with its delicately proportioned rhythm, with retention of the basic grid, allows multiple room arragements and, therefore, provision of different sized office units. Building access is through former courtyards opening to the outside on ground floor level. Mechanically-operated ventilation wings replace the outdated air conditioning system, guaranteeing an agreeable working environment in conjunction with thermally insulated glass.
